Celebrating the bee at Milford Pre-School

After sowing wildflowers and Seedballs, children at Milford Pre-School sowed broad bean seeds. Some are for Linda Birkin's Bees and Beans project at the University of Sussex, and others are for their own use.
Today the children planted petunias in brightly coloured containers to liven up a dull fence!
The children have learnt what pollination means and today that was reinforced by enjoying New Forest honey with their toast. Celebrations continued as children made bee hats and buzzed around collecting pollen! That, of course, meant something because last week the children had made huge tissue paper flowers.
What a wonderful nature education these children enjoy.
