Lymington Junior School shares its expertise

Lymington Junior School is one of the very few Green Flag schools in the New Forest. We hope that will change! They would like to share what they do and have set up an Eco blog on their school website http://lymingtonjuniorschool.org/eco-schools/
They say that energy saving is fundamental to being an Eco School. They have Energy Monitors who patrol the school and classrooms every break and lunch time to check that all lights, interactive white boards and computers have been switched off. A record of how well each class performs is made and the winning class gets to look after their Womble Mascot for the next week. They have now extended this monitoring to the Staffroom, ICT suite, Green Room and even Mr Lambert’s office! (He is the Headteacher). If any lights are found to be left on they issue the class (or Teacher!) with a Womble Warning.
